ETJ 21/1 (2017)
In this issue of ETJ (ETJ 21/1 (2017), there are five articles. The first article is authored by Sr. Dr. Bincy Mathew SH. She investigates how the command to love the enemy is actualised in the foot-washing. In the second article, Sr. Dr. Grace Koovayil SD's subject of discussion is the Holy Spirit in the thought of Jean Corbon. The forgotten personhood of the Holy Spirit is strongly underscored by him. Altar has a central position in the liturgical theology of the East Syrian Church. This is discussed by Rev. Dr. Naiju Kalambukattu CMI in the third article. Critically examining an article appeared in VJTR 80 (2016) 563-584, Rev. Dr. Thomas Neendoor, Professor of Ecclesiology, shows in the fourth article, how the idea of communion propounded in this article differs from the teachings of the magisterium, available especially in the conciliar documents. In the final article, Rev. Dr. Rengith Chakkummoottil demonstrates the role of culture as the real and authentic matrix of the moral and ethical decisions of an individual. The first part of the article tries to define culture and in the second the mutual indebtedness of culture and ethical behaviour. There are also a few book reviews in this issue.
